Nikki Cannon Appointed as Head of Screening
3:15
  • Nikki Cannon has over 25 years’ experience including pivotal roles at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support
  • Reframe Cancer now offering cancer screening to patients
  • Nikki joins six other medical professionals on Reframe’s Clinical Advisory Board

Reframe Cancer, the leading provider of specialist cancer navigation today announces the appointment of Nikki Cannon as Head of Cancer Screening, with Reframe now offering cancer screening to patients.

Nikki has a wealth of strategic and operational experience in the cancer field, including leading large scale transformation and change. She has worked extensively with the NHS, third sector, and healthcare providers. In previous roles, she led the transformation of personalised care and survivorship at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust, and developed a new cancer workforce engagement framework at Macmillan Cancer Support, where she was responsible for strategic oversight and policy advice for 10,000 professionals.

Cancer screening now available

Reframe’s cancer screening proposition includes screening for bowel, cervical and prostate cancer via at home testing, as well as lung and breast cancer in clinic and skin cancer via mobile app through SkinVision. Reframe's innovative screening platform delivers personalised NHS screening eligibility, cancer risk assessment and health guidance. Results will be followed up by one of Reframe Cancer’s cancer nurse specialists to discuss if any additional diagnostic testing is needed. The screening tests available will help deliver significant savings in time for both protection and health insurers on cancer. The product is also a flexible model that can be used to suit business needs, with self-pay, part funded by employer/policy, fully funded by employer/policy or included as part of a flexible benefits package all available.

Nikki Cannon, Head of Screening at Reframe Cancer commented: “I have always been passionate about improving the outcomes and experiences for people affected by cancer through earlier diagnosis and access to better treatments. Cancer screening is so important to tackling the rising UK cancer numbers, providing this service through Reframe will enable greater access to screening at a younger age for patients as well. The importance of this cannot be underestimated, being able to do this and offer it as a workplace benefit could save so many lives.”

Mark Stephenson, CEO Reframe Cancer commented: “I am delighted that Nikki is leading Reframe’s cancer screening proposition. She understands the complexities of the NHS and private healthcare systems like no one else. Early detection and cancer screening is a vital component of tackling the rising UK cancer numbers, almost half1 of all cancer cases are diagnosed at stages 3 and 4 which is too late. Enabling greater access to cancer screening also supports the Long Term Plan set by the NHS which aims for the proportion of cancers diagnosed at stages 1 and 2 to rise from around half now to three-quarters of cancer patients by 20281. Offering cancer screening to insurers, employers and employees is a groundbreaking part of Reframe’s growth and something we have spearheaded since becoming CQC registered.”

Nikki also joins Reframe Cancer’s Clinical Advisory Board, headed up by Consultant Clinical Oncologist Dr Seema Dadhania. The Clinical Advisory Board is a core component of Reframe’s clinical excellence following it’s CQC registration and addresses key themes around patient care such as improving quality of life, awareness and prevention, improving employer support and removing the stigma of cancer. The insight and outputs from the Board help inform product development and patient care. The Board comprises seven experts:

  • Dr Seema Dadhania, Consultant Clinical Oncologist
  • Dr Adam Wright, GP for Neko Health
  • DrAmar Maroo, GP Partner
  • Dr Cheng Boon, Clinical Oncologist
  • Nikki Cannon, Head of Screening at Reframe Cancer
  • Jonathan Gregory, National Clinical Advisor, Macmillan Cancer Support
  • Dany Bell, Strategic Advisor Cancer Care, Centre of Clinical Expertise, Macmillan Cancer Support
