Learn more about Sarah

I’ve worked in breast surgery, colorectal surgery and a postoperative high dependency unit looking after patients undergoing major surgery to treat cancer in the bowel, bladder, head and neck. Following many years in surgical nursing, I pursued a role in palliative care, where I was a band 7 team leader for 5 years in a hospice inpatient ward. I have post graduate training in critical care, palliative care, and tissue viability.

I wanted to be a nurse since I was a child, and joined the St Johns ambulance aged 11. I have always enjoyed the company of others and embraced the differences we have, so feel driven to help and work with people.

Caring for people with cancer and palliative care is my passion. Focusing on the person's needs, whatever they may be, and helping them to understand what to expect, so they can make informed decisions, stay in control and feel empowered is at the heart of the care I provide.

I also, where appropriate, help patients navigate advanced care planning, benefits such as PIP, services provided by hospices and referrals to other healthcare professionals to make day-to-day life more manageable.

I chose to work for Reframe as I believe the skills I have, will help my patients to navigate their cancer journey with empowerment, support, advocacy, and time to focus on their individual needs.

In my spare time I enjoy being with family and friends, swimming, listening to live music and reading.
